THE EXECUTIVE BOARD MEMBERS

Mrs. Bobby Reynolds is President of the Northeast Homeowners & Concerned Citizens Association (NHCCA). She also served as Treasurer for NHCCA.

 

Bobby sits on the Healthy Community Partnership Steering Committee, the Healthy Food Committee, and the Parks & Green Space Committee. She is a board member with Alliance for Congregational Transformation Influencing Our Neighborhoods (A.C.T.I.O.N) and services on the Greater Mahoning Valley 1619 Committee and the Community Mobilization Coalition.


Bobbe was recently selected as Director for the Allegheny West Conference of the Seventh-Day Adventist Women Ministries (AWC) Executive Committee serving Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. She is the Treasurer and Elder of her church, Alpha & Omega, located in Warren, Ohio, and serves as Co-Coordinator for the Northern Ohio Women’s Ministries of the AWC Seventh-Day Adventist Women Ministries Executive Committee.


Bobby retired from her former position as District Manager from the Social Security Administration Office having over forty years of Federal service. She attended Maryland University of College Park, Maryland and Youngstown State University, where majored in Business Management.

Bobby resides in Youngstown, Ohio, with her husband, Robert. They have one son, Ron, two grandsons, and two grandchildren. Her desire is to be Christ-servant, lift others, and leave the world better through service.

Mr. Michael North is Vice President of the Northeast Homeowners And Concerned Citizens Association (NHCCA). He is a graduate of North High School (NHS) where he lettered in Football and Track & Field. Michael was a first-team All-City Defensive End and Offensive Tackle.

 

After graduating from NHS, he received a four-year Football Athletic Scholarship to Delaware State University in Dover, Delaware where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health & Physical Education. Michael lived and worked in New York State and the Metro City area for fifty years before recently returning to his childhood home of Youngstown, Ohio.

 

 Growing up on the east side of Youngstown, he felt it necessary to become involved with the way things have really changed since his departure – This prompted Michael’s decision to join NHCCA - To reconnect with his community.

Mrs. Shaleen J. McRae is the Assistant Secretary for the Northeast Homeowners And Concerned Citizens Association (NHCCA). She has also served as Project Coordinator/Office Manager, Litter Control Supervisor, and Treasurer for NHCCA.

 

Shaleen is a resident of the east side of Youngstown, Ohio where she has lived her entire life. She graduated from The Rayen High School with academic honors and a 4.2 grade point average. Shaleen attended Youngstown State University majoring in Social Work. She loves to read literature and enjoys music.

 

Shaleen is the proud mother of five children and she is married to Lawrence McRae III, a former Sharon Line resident.

 

She was the former Human Resource Manager and Youth Leader for Artis's Tender Love & Care and has been Executive Director for Associated Neighborhood Centers: The McGuffey Centre since January of 2020.

Ms. Glenda F. House is the Treasurer for the Northeast Homeowners and Concerned Citizens Association (NHCCA). She has also served as the Secretary, Project Coordinator/Office Manager, and President of NHCCA.

 

For over thirty years, Glenda has been active in her community as a former Sunday School Teacher and neighborhood liaison. Her professional community activism includes work with the initial development of the Mahoning Valley Organizing Collaborative (MVOC) and membership on The Raymond John Wean Foundation (RJW Fdn) Resident Council.

 

Glenda moved from Groton, Connecticut to Youngstown, Ohio in 1967 and graduated from North High School (NHS) in 1968  - Go Bulldogs!! She received her degree in Information Technology from Youngstown State University and incorporated a home-based bookkeeping business, Bookkeeping by Design, LLC in 2010.

 

Glenda is blessed with two daughters, two grandsons, one granddaughter, and two great granddaughters. Her passion is gardening; in which she obtained Master Gardeners Volunteer Certificates from Mill Creek Metroparks Fellows Riverside Gardens and Ohio State University Extension.

 

In addition to her work with NHCCA, Glenda serves as Treasurer for the Sunflower Garden Club – The only African-American organized garden club in Mahoning County. Glenda hopes that her efforts will help to improve the quality of life for her family, friends, and neighbors.

Mrs. Carolyn Williams is the Secretary for the Northeast Homeowners and Concerned Citizens Association (NHCCA).

 

Carolyn is a native of Bluefield, West Virginia where she graduated from Park Central High School, Bluefield State College Bluefield, and Howard University. 

 

She has served as a member of the Executive Board for Interracial Youth in West Virginia, and Treasurer for Flat Top Baptist Association Youth Department. She has been employed at Freedmans Hospital School of Radiological Technologist as an X-Ray Technician, at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C., South Side Hospital, and Northside Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio and retired after 25 years.

Carolyn is a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church, Struthers, Ohio (late Ralph Burton Pastor), where she served as Sunday School Superintendent, member of the Adult and Mass choir, and Teacher of Missionary Society and a craft class. At Present, Carolyn is am a Member of Union Baptist Church (Michael Harrison Pastor), a Servant Leader of Union Baptist Church School Ministry, and Member UBC Choir and Prayer Partner Ministry. 

 

Her community activism includes work with A.C.T.I.O.N. and The Mahoning Valley Organizing Collaborative.

Carolyn is wife to the Late James L. Williams and has reared four children - One son and three daughters. She has four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren

Mrs. Doris Hunt is the Financial Secretary for the Northeast Homeowners and Concerned Citizens Association (NHCCA). 

​

Doris resides on the east side of Youngstown, and graduated from East High School. She is originally from Lauderdale, Mississippi and moved to Youngstown as a child. She has lived on the East side for most of her life. 

​

She has served on the Board of Directors for over 16 years as the Financial Secretary. Her main function is to maintain the membership roster and record dues. 

​

Doris is employed part-time at Burlington in Boardman where she has worked for 31 years. She is a member of Greater Friendship Baptist Church, under the direction of the pastor, Elder James C. Bowie.  She volunteers at her church, and likes to attend line dancing and walking classes in her spare time to have fun and keep fit. Doris is a former member of the Nav Ladies Classic Bowling League that was sponsored by FD Mason Funeral Home.

Doris has one son, Robert Bryan Hunt, two grandsons, and one great grandson.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Northeast Homeowners & Concerned Citizens Association, NHCCA,

is a 501C(3) non-profit organization.

 

Our mission is to work towards the betterment and revitalization of neighborhoods on the Northeast side of Youngstown and surrounding areas by uniting area homeowners and collaborating with other neighborhood organizations to help maintain and improve property standards and advance the interest of the citizens residing in those areas. NHCCA is strongly committed to stimulating and enhancing the quality of life through civic awareness, involvement, and coordinating neighborhood beautification efforts.

 

The types of services provided are litter control, neighborhood beautification, block watch assistance, youth/young adult enrichment, and support for the improvement of Northeast side homeowners.  This includes advocating for city services and social service assistance. We have been in operation for more than 40 years.

 

The client population is low to moderate-income persons.
